Function
· Imparting of basic knowledge and skills in the cultivation and commercialisation of flowers and ornamental plants, shrubs and trees, herbaceous perennials, herbs, vegetables and fruits with an ecological responsibility and under economical limitation

Way of teaching
in form of practical lessons in small groups
Size of group: 8 - 12 students
in a 3 weeks rotation each student comes back to the same station

Marketing of the products
All cultivated flowers & ornamental plants, products of the tree nursery and vegetables are sold to retailers (nurseries, flower shops, tree nurseries, landscape gardening companies, restaurants, food-retailers, vegetable wholesalers) for market prices. Furthermore parts of all these products are needed in the kitchen of the school or as teaching material.
Fruit is mostly sold by direct selling at the sales room in Haindorf. The B-quality of apples is used for the production of apple juice which is served all over the year to the students. Because: “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.Â�
